Paul Daugerdas

Paul Daugerdas has an illustrious professional journey with significant roles in esteemed organizations across the financial, legal, and accounting sectors. He began his career at Arthur Andersen & Co., initially as a staff member, and steadily rose to become a manager. 1984 he achieved the prestigious partner position, holding various key roles from 1974 to 1994. Daugerdas's expertise in mergers, acquisitions, and reorganizations earned him a place as a valuable member of the Mergers, Acquisitions & Reorganizations Tax Specialty Team. As Head of the Central Region Financial Markets Team, he led a dedicated group of tax and audit personnel, overseeing financial market activities such as commodities, futures, stocks, bonds, swaps, and various over-the-counter financial instruments and products. During his tenure at Arthur Andersen & Co., Daugerdas also served as the Head of the Chicago Office "On Call" Team. They were an esteemed member of the Financial Valuation Services Specialty Team.

 

In 1994, Daugerdas joined the Law Offices of Altheimer & Gray as a partner, taking on the pivotal role of Head of the Tax Department. His expertise and leadership made him a valuable member of the Steering Committee. From 1999 to 2002, he displayed exceptional abilities as a Shareholder/Partner at the Law Offices of Jenkens & Gilchrist. Daugerdas managed the Chicago office and co-directed the Tax Practice in this role, showcasing his exceptional business acumen. His contributions extended to serving as a member of the Management Advisory Committee during his tenure at Jenkens & Gilchrist.

 

In addition to his professional accomplishments, Paul has been actively involved in charitable endeavors. One notable organization that received his support is The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Northern Illinois. Daugerdas significantly impacted the lives of children facing critical illnesses by serving as the Chairman and President of the foundation in 2002 and 2003. His dedication to philanthropy extended beyond these roles, as he served as a Board Member, Treasurer, Finance Committee Member, and Wish Granter from 1996 to 2008. Daugerdas's commitment to giving back to the community also led him to contribute to various other charities, including museums and civic organizations, since the mid-1970s.
